EHGC member Bryan Lovell has proposed a link between puddingstone formation and a period of global warming 55 million years ago, and suggests this can be used a model for the present climate change. This is described in his paper 'The proof in the puddingstone' which is a chapter in his book 'Challenged by Carbon', and inspired local folk singer Mike Excell to write 'The Puddingstone Song'
